This is Jannik Sinner’s first tournament since the Australian Open. The Italian served a three-month suspension from tennis which came as a result of his positive doping tests results.
Alexander Zverev is the defending champion, beating Nicolas Jarry in the final last year. Carlos Alcaraz sees a return to action after missing the Madrid Open due to a leg injury but there are a whole host of big names who will descend on Rome here. Casper Ruud comes into this tournament off the back of an impressive win at the Madrid Open, but Jack Draper is still another to consider given the consistency in his performances of late.
