The NFL season is almost upon us, which means two things for American gamblers: Business is going to pick up considerably, but all of the prop bets involving Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs will not involve his fiancée, Taylor Swift.
Unless those wagers go offshore, where the prop markets are creative, varied and entertaining.
"The Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce relationship is the gift that keeps on giving for the bookies. They first started offering props on this power couple two years ago, and it's a publicity perfect storm when you can combine an NFL superstar a global icon,” industry expert Scott Cooley of CoolMedia.com told SportsBoom.com.
“The Swift-Kelce props have been incredibly popular among the bettors and media, and I certainly expect to see more once we have a wedding date."
Creative genius is the hallmark of the offshores trying to entice Americans to make wagers on proposition bets that are not available because state-by-state legislative restrictions in the 38 states (along with Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.) that offer online wagering.
At sportsbetting.ag, people can wager on when/where the wedding will happen, where the bachelor/bachelorette parties will be, the honeymoon, Taylor's dress designer, the wedding parties, the cake and much more.

Regulatory Stalemate Keeps Creative Betting Offshore
Gambling industry lobbyists in the United States have been lobbying for these types of wagers to be made available in the states where online gambling has been legalized, but most state governments and more focused on the issues that are dominating the national political landscape in the United States, including immigration crackdowns, inflation, housing shortages and medical coverage.
As a result, gambling law changes are not being prioritized despite the enormous tax revenues they bring in. So far this year, New York has collected nearly 3.4 billion USD in gambling related tax revenues, nearly four times as much as Illinois, which ranks second nationally with nearly 891,000 USD in gambling tax revenues, according to Legal Sports Report.
On the low end, South Dakota has brought in just 294,000 USD in gambling revenues.
Logic would dictate that at some point in the future, numerous U.S. states are going to broaden their wagering option choices. But for now, online casinos, sports gambling apps and scratch-off lottery tickets continue to represent the comfort zone for the politicians empowered to make changes.
And that is a gift for the offshores.
"People are taking some shots on a shotgun wedding at 5/1 as they think she might already be knocked up, but we're pretty sure she's not," said Dave Mason, the brand manager at BetOnline.ag.
“Other popular bets among BetOnline's customers are taking the 'OVER' for Jason Kelce's keg stand and wedding cake pieces consumed by Andy Reid."
