Everton are weighing up a January loan swoop for Ivan Toney, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The former Brentford star is desperate to force his way into the England reckoning ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
Toney ditched the Premier League for the Saudi Arabia magic money tree in the summer of 2024 and despite scoring 41 goals in 59 apperances since his £40million switch to Al Ahil, he has struggled to be included in Thomas Tuchel’s recent Three Lions’ squads, playing just once since making the move after the Euro 2024 campaign.
And our sources have been told Toney is pushing for a loan move back to England for the second half of the season to give himself the best possible shot at being on the plane to the USA.
A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with making a move for Toney.
West Ham United have been touted with chasing the 29-year-old amid their struggles. It is understood the Hammers’ hierarchy see Toney as someone who could fire them to safety after their poor start to the season.
David Moyes’ Everton have their own goal troubles to solve. Last weekend’s 2-0 win over Fulham was only the second time the Toffees have scored twice in the Premier League since August.
Jack Grealish has been a revelation since making a loan move from Manchester City, but his creativity has largely been wasted.
Iliman Ndiaye is the club’s top scorer with four goals and defender Michael Keane their second most prolific goal getter in the league with two.
Toney is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League and is seen as the perfect short-term option.
Everton have also recently been linked with a potential move for Bayern Munich forward Nicolas Jackson, who is currently on loan

Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank is reportedly interested in reuniting with his Brentford talisman.
Frank's press conferences towards the end of Toney's time at the club descended into journalists joking about asking an 'Ivan Toney question'.
During his time in the Premier League under Frank, Toney netted 12 league goals in the 2021/22 campaign and followed it up with 20 in 33 games the following season.
