Aston Villa Current Form – WWWWL

Aston Villa come into this game off the back of a disappointing loss to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup. In fairness, Unai Emery’s side have been incredibly impressive throughout the season but seemingly found it difficult to find consistency against certain teams from the league.

Villa is still in the race for the top five and after their performance in the Champions League already, they will be hungry to qualify for the Champions League again. Do they have what it takes to close the season on the front foot though? Or have they reached their limit and are running out of steam?

Key Players to Watch

  • Ollie Watkins: Ollie Watkins continues to be a pivotal figure for Aston Villa this season. His constant goalscoring prowess is underpinned by statistics in the league. Scoring 15 goals makes Watkins the top English scorer in the Premier League and a record holder for Villa.
  • Morgan Rogers: A dynamic and versatile attacking option for Villa, Rogers has brought a diverse and broad value to Unai Emery’s team. Scoring six goals, providing four assists but also breaking down opponents possession through the midfield – he is one to watch here.
  • Youri Tielemans: He has been incredibly important for Emery in the midfield. Fulfilling defensive duties while also establishing attacking threats for Villa have made him vital to the team, but his ability to control the tempo of the game with a robust and physical presence is his greatest attribute.

Aston Villa Team News

Villa have managed to maintain a relatively injury-free team throughout this season. They currently only have Jaden Philogene and Marcus Rashford on the injury list with an MCL knee injury and hamstring strain respectively.

Fulham Current Form – LWLLW

The quality within this Fulham side is often taken for granted. They will likely be rather frustrated with their performance throughout the season, but objectively, they have a lot more reason to celebrate.

They responded well to that performance with Chelsea by putting a wasteful Southampton to the sword. They will no doubt come into this game with a degree of confidence though and expect to come away with all three points.

Key Players to Watch

  • Andreas Pereira: Pereira has been vital for Fulham throughout this season. His creativity and set-piece threat has been well documented, but his consistency is what endears him to their fans. He continues to be a player with creative freedom who is happy to express himself in the league, but there is no denying his ability.
  • Raul Jimenez: The leading scorer for Fulham this season, Jimenez has now surpassed Javier Hernandez as the all-time top-scoring Mexican player. His clinical finishing and experience in the final third has been incredible for Fulham and their attacking endeavors.
  • Alex Iwobi: Iwobi continues to be a force in the Fulham midfield, but his playmaking ability is undeniable. At the time of writing, Iwobi leads the team with 53 chances created and has contributed seven goals and four assists in the Premier League.

Fulham Team News

Reiss Nelson is currently on the injury list with a thigh injury and Rodrigo Muniz is out with a knock, but they are also without Antonee Robinson.

Predicted Line-Up

  1. Aston Villa: 4-4-1-1

Martinez, Digne, Torres, Konsa, Cash, McGinn, Tielemans, Kamara, Rogers, Asensio, Watkins.

  2. Fulham: 4-2-3-1

Leno, Sessegnon, Bassey, Anderson, Tete, Pereira, Berge, Iwobi, Wilson, Willian, Jimenez.

Value Bets

Before placing any bets, it’s essential to familiarize yourself with the betting rules to ensure you’re making well-informed decisions

  1. Draw: These two teams have both struggled defensively but continue to find the back of the net each week. We can’t seem to separate them, so back the draw. 49/10 (5.9) with Betway

  2. Correct Score (2-2): A plausible outcome here would be backing a high-scoring draw and so 2-2 seems to be a valuable play. 13/1 (14.0) with 1xBet

  3. Totals Away Team (Over 1.5): Back Fulham to get Over 1.5 Goals at incredibly valuable odds. 43/20 (3.3) with Pinnacle

Prediction: Draw

Aston Villa and Fulham have both managed to register really positive performances in front of goal, but their defensive insecurities often rob them of vital points. They are both still in contention for European qualification and so the points on offer here will be vital.

Fulham have been better on the road in recent weeks, but Villa will be a tough nut to crack home. Nevertheless, backing a draw is our suggestion.
