The Clarets look a much better outfit than their last stint in the Premier League and look hungry to secure their status for next season, but a tough encounter looms with the Reds coming to town.

Scott Parker will take confidence from their defeat last time out to Manchester United, as it was a spirited performance that almost yielded a point for the newcomers to the league. On the other side of the dugout, you will see Arne Slot, who brings his championship-winning side to Turf Moor.

Burnley Current Form LWL

Parker’s side has won once in their three games in the competition, and as mentioned earlier, they at least deserved a point at Old Trafford. The victory against Sunderland was precious, though, as they need to beat teams who will be in and around them come May.

Key Players to watch

  • Lyle Foster: The South African opened his Premier League account in the last game out at Old Trafford and backed it up by scoring on international duty for Bafana Bafana in a crucial World Cup qualifier.
  • Jaidon Anthony: The Englishman has been Burnley’s most dangerous threat in attack and the 25-year-old has registered three goal contributions in as many games for the Clarets.
  • Martin Dubravka: The 36-year-old is an experienced keeper, and the former Newcastle United man has already kept a clean sheet for Parker’s side this season.

Burnley Team News

Following the international break, Parker will be without the duo of Jordan Beyer and Zeki Amdouni, who are both nursing knee injuries, and Connor Roberts, who has a knock but will be assessed ahead of the visit from the champions.

Liverpool Current Form – WWW

Slot’s side has been terrific in their opening three games and continued from where they left off last season. Home wins against Bournemouth and Arsenal were either side of a spirited victory against Newcastle United on Tyneside, putting them at the summit of the Premier League.

Key Players to watch

  • Dominik Szoboslai: The Hungarian is a technically gifted midfielder who does not stop running. He is also versatile and has done an excellent job filling in at right-back for the Reds.
  • Cody Gakpo: Gakpo is a real threat in the final third and is capable of playing across the front three for Liverpool. The 26-year-old has two assists and one goal in his three appearances this season.
  • Hugo Ekitike: The Frenchman has hit the ground running on Merseyside and has registered three goal contributions in his three appearances for Slot’s side this season.

Liverpool Team News

Slot will only be missing Jeremie Frimpong, who suffered a hamstring strain a few weeks ago and is still recovering, but with Szoboslai filling in so well, the Reds look like they will be fine till their new recruit fully recovers.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. Burnley (4-2-3-1): Dubravka, Walker, Ekdal, Esteve, Hartman, Cullen, Ugochukwu, Larsen, Mejbri, Anthony, Foster

  2. Liverpool: 4-3-3 – Alisson, Szoboszlai, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Wirtz, Salah, Gakpo, Ekitike

Suggested Bets

  1. Over 3.5 Goals: Expect Slot’s side to run riot against Burnley as their attacking line-up will be too much for the Burnley defence to handle. (137/100 with Betway)

  2. Both Teams to Score (No): Liverpool have kept four clean sheets in their previous five encounters with Burnley. (83/100 with Betway)

Value Bets

If you’re interested to bet on football, here are some value bets for you,

  1. Jaidon Anthony Anytime Goal Scorer: The Englishman has been Burnley’s best player, and he will want to add to his two goals this season in front of the home faithful. (Forecast odds: 4/1. Odds available closer to kick-off with 10Bet)

  2. Mohamed Salah Anytime Goal Scorer: Salah is always a threat with how Liverpool play, and the Golden Boot winner will be eager to get on the scoresheet against the newly-promoted Burnley. (Forecast odds: 3/1. Odds available closer to kick-off with Bet UK)

Prediction: Liverpool and Over 2.5 Goals

Burnley have shown some spirited performances in the league this season, but it is really difficult to see anything else than a Liverpool landslide victory in this one. The champions are high on confidence after winning their opening three games of the Premier League season and are likely to continue that in emphatic fashion against Burnely on Sunday.
