Chelsea Current Form – DWWWL
Chelsea come into this fixture after a really disappointing result against Newcastle. After beating Liverpool and boosting their Champions League hopes, Enzo Maresca would have been disappointed that his side couldn’t consolidate that win with victory over Newcastle.
Chelsea under Maresca have become such a confident side and losing in the manner they did would have done them no favours. Yes, they face a United side who are struggling domestically. Yes, they have players like Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke who are firing on all cylinders and can win a game themselves – but their inconsistency could cost them a place in the Champions League next year.
Key Players to Watch
- Cole Palmer: Palmer continues to be instrumental for Chelsea. His attacking ability and prowess is simply second to none and his contributions have kept them relevant at the top of the league even with all of their inconsistencies. He is a creative player, and they will no doubt look to him to find a way through once again here.
- Romeo Lavia: Lavia struggled with injuries at the beginning of the season, but since his return, he has solidified their midfield and brought a degree of calm precision to their ranks. He allows others to get more advanced up the field and plays a vital role for the team as a whole. Keep an eye on him.
- Moises Caicedo: His versatility has been an asset to this Chelsea side. His transitions between attack and defence often aid the build-up play of this team and given the degree with which he is able to adapt, it comes as no surprise to see him included in Maresca’s team.
Chelsea Team News
Christopher Nkunku is still nursing a knock while Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman and Wesley Fofana have all been sidelined due to hamstring strains. Mykhailo Mudryk, meanwhile, is also still currently left out.
Manchester United Current Form – LLDLL
Whether you identify as a Manchester United fan or not, it has been incredibly difficult to watch this team of late. They have decided to field a second-string side in the league, and you can understand why, but their quality has just been so poor.
The Europa League final is going to be Amorim’s focus now – irrespective of the opponent, and if their recent results are anything to go by, they are going to struggle here.
Key Players to Watch
- Mason Mount: His resurgence of late has been something those associated with United can smile about. He has settled into his role nicely and together with his natural work ethic and versatility, Mount will be key for United.
- Amad Diallo: He has been another creative force for United and his return has been a huge welcome for Ruben Amorim’s chargers. The fact that he leads the team with just six assists says a lot about their season, but his versatility on the field shouldn’t be something taken for granted.
- Kobbie Mainoo: This is a player who should still be considered one of the best in the league in his position. He is a young gem and continues to be pivotal for this United midfield – even with limited game time. His performances continue to showcase maturity and control, and you simply have to keep your eye on him.
Manchester United Team News
Ayden Heaven is ruled out with a foot injury while Toby Callyer continues to recover from his leg injury. United are also without Diogo Dalot (calf injury), Joshua Zirkzee who is recovering from a thigh injury and Matthijs de Ligt who we saw hobble off with a hamstring strain.
Lisandro Martinez remains on the injury list as he recovers from his cruciate ligament injury.
Predicted Line-Up
Chelsea: 4-2-3-1
Sanchez, Cucurella, Colwill, Chalobah, Caicedo, Lavia, Fernandez, Madueke, Palmer, Neto, Jackson.
Manchester United: 3-4-2-1
Bayindir, Shaw, Lindelof, Fredrickson, Dorgu, Ugarte, Mainoo, Amass, Garnacho, Mount, Obi-Martin.
Suggested Bets
For those who love taking football bets on the Premier League, here are some suggestion worth considering.
Both Teams to Score (Yes): Given how inconsistent these two teams have been as well as how they have struggled to keep defensive stability – back both teams to score here. 7/10 (1.7) with BetWinner
Over 2.5 Goals: Another betting suggestion to take advantage of from a goal-scoring perspective is the Over 2.5 goals market. 9/20 (1.45) with Stake
Chelsea to Win: The hosts should field a stronger team and come away with all three points on offer here. 7/20 (1.35) with Stake.
Value Bets
Understanding the betting rules before placing a wager is essential, as it helps avoid surprises related to voided bets, settlement disputes, or market-specific terms.
Chelsea/Draw + Both Teams to Score: Back the Blues to come away from the game with something to show for it but add the goal-scoring suggestion to amplify the odds. Get on at 1/1 (2.0) with Betway
Mason Mount (Anytime Goalscorer): This might be a bit of a novelty bet, but back the ex-Chelsea star to find the back of the net here after he has found some really impressive form again. 8/1 (9.0) with 1xBet
Chelsea/Chelsea + Over 1.5 (Halftime/Fulltime): We expect a dominating display and strong holistic performance from this Chelsea side. Back them to deliver just that. 11/10 (2.1) with Pinnacle
Prediction: Chelsea to Win
The hosts need a positive result here far more than that of the Red Devils and that will be reflected in the team selection the managers put out. United have their sights set elsewhere and we think they pay the price for that against a good Chelsea outfit.
