Everton Current Form – LWWDW
As much as we have all lauded the great run of form the Toffees enjoyed under David Moyes, the fact that they have not managed to sustain it paints a more accurate picture as they look forward to next season.
The squad is in dire need of an overhaul and that might be the toughest test Moyes has to face since returning to Everton earlier this season.
Key Players to Watch
- Dwight McNeil: He continues to be a standout performer for Everton. Scoring goals at will and adding to the creative edge of the team, McNeil has shown his attacking ability week in and week out.
- Iliman Ndiaye: Ndiaye has turned a few heads in a relatively short space of time. He is a player with tremendous agility and his offensive contributions add an entirely new dimension to the Everton attack.
- Michael Keane: He is a solid defender who has shown a real prowess both in front of goal and while defending it. His defensive stability has been a constant, but adding an attacking threat to his game simply elevates it without question.
Everton Team News
Everton are without James Tarkowski, who is still struggling with a hamstring strain, Jesper Lindstrom, who suffered a hernia, and Orel Mangala, who has an ACL knee injury.
Southampton Current Form – LDLLD
Nobody gave Southampton hope in hell against Manchester City, and in truth, nobody should have. However, the Saints managed to register one of the performances of their season to earn a vital point against Pep Guardiola’s men and move past the dreaded 11-point mark.
That makes this encounter a bit of a dead-rubber event and that suggests it could go anywhere. Does Southampton now play with freedom and perform well? Alternatively, do they now start worrying about next season and begin to just go through the motions…
Key Players to Watch
- Flynn Downes: He has been instrumental for Southampton, especially in the midfield. His consistency has seen him find more and more game time in the league, but he is a player who links attack and defence – something not to be taken for granted.
- Will Smallbone: His statistics really do talk for themselves. Scoring seven goals, registering four assists and completing 56 interceptions sees the young midfielder rank among the best in the league. It’s no surprise then that his proverbial share price continues to rise.
- Jan Bednarek: A mainstay for Southhampton, Bednarek continues to serve the club in their defensive third. He is a player with incredible experience and leadership – two aspects which can only surely become the envy of every young player. Keep an eye on him here.
Southampton Team News
The Saints are only without Albert Gronbaek who is negotiating a tendon injury, alongside both Charlie Taylor and Ryan Fraser who suffered knocks.
Predicted Line-Up
Everton: 4-2-3-1
Pickford, Mykolenko, Branthwaite, Keane, Young, Gueye, Garner, Alcaraz, Doucoure, Harrison, Beto.
Southampton: 3-4-2-1
Ramsdale, Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, Stephens, Bree, Downes, Ugochukwu, Wellington, Dibling, Smallbone, Sulemana
Suggested Bets
Consider our suggested bets for all of your weekend Premier League football betting.
Everton: They have a home advantage, and we expect David Moyes’ team to take full advantage of it here. Back the hosts to come away with all three points. 9/20 (1.45) with BetWinner
Over 2.5 Goals: A betting suggestion to take full advantage of the defensive frailty of both teams. 15/20 (1.75) with Stake
Over 9.5 Corners: These two teams average around eight corners per match – back over 9.5 corners (or even more if you are feeling confident) at generous odds. 9/10 (1.9) with Stake.
Value Bets
New punters aiming to back these value bets can take advantage of a welcome bonus to boost their initial stake and increase potential returns.
Correct Score: Always a brave betting angle, but we suggest backing Everton to edge a 2-1 win here. Get on at 7/1 (8.0) with Betway
Everton + Over 2.5 Goals: Combine these two betting angles to ensure you get maximum value on your bet. 12/10 (9.0) with 1xBet
Everton by 1: A bit of a derivative from our previous betting suggestion but backing Everton to claim a tight victory returns some profitable prices. 26/10 (3.6) with Pinnacle
Prediction: Everton to Win
They are without question a more complete team and given that they play with such confidence, playing at home will likely only heighten their impotence here. Back the Toffees to secure a big victory here.
