Manchester City Current Form - WWLWW

Ahead of the start of the season, there were many concerned with whether or not the absence of Rodri would be a concern for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. He obviously won’t miss the entire season, but if their opening weekend was anything to go by, they will be okay.

The new additions to this City side have only added to their strength and depth. They seemingly matched up to the physicality of the Premier League and their midfield was able to dominate proceedings at Molineux. It might be too early to say, but City seem to be back to their best.

Key Players to Watch

  • Erling Haaland
As has become the expectation for City, Haaland saw his name onto the scoresheet on the opening weekend against Wolves and looks to once again impose himself on the rest of the league. Keep an eye on him to once again ask difficult questions of the Spurs defence.
  • Jeremy Doku
An electric player with incredible pace and dribbling ability. He is a handful for opposing players with his creativity and progressive intention through midfield. He will no doubt be looking to have a say in this encounter.
  • Tijjani Reijnders
The arrival of Reijnders from AC Milan had an instant impact on the league and Manchester City last time out. He adds incredible ability to the City midfield and his dynamic play make their midfield even more dangerous.

Manchester City Team News

Outside of the Rodri injury, City come into the game with a full complement.

Tottenham Current Form – WLLDW

Tottenham have been impressive under manager Thomas Frank. They tested PSG when they faced off in the Super Cup and given the versatility of their shape and approach to each game, they will be a difficult side to face this season.

There is no denying that they have good players, they saw off Burnley on the weekend and got their season underway smartly. This will obviously be a very different test, but if they are able to get into the City final third and make life difficult for their hosts, counting them out might be an oversight.

Key Players to Watch

  • Richarlison
It might still be a touch early on, but Richarlison looks like a serious forward under Thomas Frank. He is playing with confidence and getting his side into really positive positions. If there is someone to put pressure on City it will be him.
  • Pape Matar Sarr
His pace and creativity will always make him a dangerous player to contend with; he is a goal scoring threat but also a strong defensive addition through the middle of the field. He will be hoping to have his say in this encounter.
  • Brennan Johnson
An exciting player to keep tabs on for Spurs, Johnson is another player who looks to be enjoying a purple patch. Coming off the success he had last season, he was able to get in the goals on the opening weekend and looks to be able to add to his side’s success here.

Tottenham Team News

Thomas Frank has a fully fit squad to choose from here.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. Manchester City:
Trafford, Ait-Nouri, Dias, Stones, Lewis, Reijnders, Gonzalez, Doku, Silva, Bobb, Haaland.

  2. Tottenham:
Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence, Gray, Bergvall, Kudus, Sarr, Johnson, Richarlison.

Suggested Bets

These selections align with the broader football betting tips and prediction analysis, highlighting where value may lie based on form and attacking strengths

  1. Manchester City Win – This is by no means a straightforward outing for the hosts, but their quality and depth of squad seem to suggest that they will have enough to see off Spurs here. (9/20 with Betandyou).

  2. Over 2.5 Goals – Backing Over 2.5 Goals will not bring too many serious returns, but given the weapons they both hold in front of goal, this simply has to go into your weekend multiples. (13/20 with Stake)

  3. Both Teams to Score (Yes) – The attacking abilities of these two teams suggests that this could be a banker contender for the weekend. (13/20 with 1Win)

Value Bets

  1. Manchester City to Win + Both Teams to Score – There is a lot of value here, but back the combination with confidence. (33/20 with Pin Up)

  2. Over 3.5 Goals – We suggest you take advantage of these generous odds! Backing a high-scoring affair here is almost a certainity, so going past the traditional 2.5 goal mark could return handsomely. (29/20 with 1Win)

  3. First Team to Score (Tottenham) – It is a bit of an outsider bet, but back the visitors to attack the game from the start and possibly open the scoring. City have been vulnerable to quick starts already and often only grow into the game. (2/1 with 1xBet)

Prediction: Manchester City to Win

This will be an incredible game of football – of that there is no doubt. Spurs have the side to ask all the right questions here, but whether or not they can get past City and claim all three points on offer remains to be seen.

There is no denying the quality and depth that has become apparent for Pep Guardiola, and if they are able to replicate their performance last time out, they win this.
