Newcastle welcome Chelsea to Tyneside in a crunch match as both sides vie for a Champions League spot for next season’s competition.

The Blues ran out 2-1 winners the last time these sides played each other earlier in the season, after Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer scored either side of an Alexander Isak strike to seal victory for Enzo Maresca’s side.

Eddie Howe’s outfit have grown into form of late and have picked up silverware after winning the EFL Cup, a competition they got the better of the visitors in the Round of 16 stage.

Howe’s side has won four of the previous five games and lost just once, albeit getting thrashed 4-1 in that game against Aston Villa. They are firmly chasing a top-four finish and have been excellent since the turn of the year following a slow start to the season.
