The Premier League is heating up as we enter the business end of the season. There is another mouth-watering clash to look forward to when Spurs make the short trip to face West Ham United.

Ange Postecoglou’s side ran out 4-1 winners in the reverse fixture as his side ran riot against their London rivals back in October last year, and that kind of performance seems ages ago as they have since struggled in the league.

The home side knows all about finding it difficult in the league themselves. Since hiring new coach Graham Potter, not much has changed from their early-season woes, and West Ham find themselves hovering above the relegation zone.

Pre-Game Odds and Win Probability

  1. Home: 4/1 (5.00) – 32.0%

  2. Draw: 3/1 (4.00) – 31.0%

  3. Away: 8/11 (1.73) – 37.0%

West Ham vs. Tottenham Hotspur head-to-head record

  1. 19/10/24 – Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

  2. 02/04/24 – West Ham 1-1 Tottenham

  3. 07/12/23 – Tottenham 1-2 West Ham

  4. 19/02/23 – Tottenham 2-0 West Ham

  5. 31/08/22 – West Ham 1-1 Tottenham

West Ham Current Form – LDLDL

Potter’s side has been very poor this campaign. The Englishman has tried to steady the ship, but it has proved a tough task as they are just one place above the relegation zone. Their form over their previous five games sees them winless, having drawn twice and lost three times in that period.

Key Players to watch

  • Tomas Soucek: The tall and lanky midfielder has been a standout performer for the Hammers all season, and he has a goal in him too. The 30-year-old has bagged 8 goals from midfield for his side this season.
  • Lucas Paqueta: The Brazilian is one of the most skilful players in the league and is a key part of the West Ham midfield, offering creativity and dynamism in attack.
  • Jarrod Bowen: The England international has been the Irons’ best creative attacker this campaign. Bowen has nine goals and seven assists in 30 Premier League games.

West Ham United Team News

Michail Antonio has a leg injury and Crysencio Summerville is out with a muscle issue. Edson Alvarez has a back issue, but other than that, Potter will have a fully fit squad to choose from for this crucial London derby.

Tottenham Hotspur Current Form – LLWLL

Big Ange’s side has been extremely poor considering the talent on offer in this Spurs side. They are just two places above the relegation zone and would want this season to end as quickly as possible. They have won just once in their previous five games and have lost the other four games.

Key Players to watch

  • James Maddison: The England international has struggled with injuries this season but has still managed to register 15 goal contributions in a poor Spurs outfit.
  • Son Heung-Min: The captain is one of their best players and even though they have struggled, Son has managed to score seven goals and provide nine assists for Big Ange’s side.
  • Pedro Porro: The Spanish defender has one of the most educated right foots in the Premier League. Porro has eight goal contributions this campaign.

Tottenham Team News

Spurs will be without defender Radu Dragusin who has a knee injury, while captain Son will be assessed ahead of the trip to their London rivals. They have a Europa League semi-final to look forward too and may not risk the South Korean.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. West Ham (4-2-3-1): Areola, Todibo, Kilman, Cresswell, Emerson, Soucek, Irving, Wan-Bissaka, Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus

  2. Tottenham Hotspur (4-3-3): Kinsky, Porro, Romero, Gray, Davies, Sarr, Bentancur, Bissouma, Tel, Johnson, Solanke
