Chelsea are ready to listen to loan and permanent offers for wantaway goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, with SportsBoom understanding Leeds United are among the clubs already showing firm interest.
The Danish international is desperate for regular first-team football after finding opportunities hard to come by at Stamford Bridge since his high-profile move from Villarreal.
Jorgensen, 24, has won two senior caps for Denmark and remains highly regarded despite struggling to nail down a starting spot with the Blues.
The keeper arrived in a £20million move from Spanish side Villarreal, where he had established himself as a regular starter in La Liga and was regarded as one of the division's most promising young goalkeepers.
Chelsea handed him a lucrative seven-year contract when they signed him, believing they had secured a long-term solution between the sticks.
But things have not worked out as planned.
SECOND FIDDLE
Jorgensen has spent much of his Chelsea career playing second fiddle and has been unable to force his way into the club's first-choice plans.
He made just six Premier League appearances during his first season in West London and followed that up with only five league outings last term in the top flight.
As a result, the Dane is understandably keen to move on in search of regular football.
Leeds are among the clubs monitoring the situation closely as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke is believed to be assessing several goalkeeping options, and Jorgensen's availability has attracted attention at Elland Road, especially having let French shot-stopper Illan Meslier leave on a free transfer this month.
Several ambitious Championship clubs are also thought to be interested in the shotstopper's signature.
However, sources close to the player suggest his preference would be to remain in the Premier League if possible and establish himself as a regular starter at the highest level.
PERMUTATIONS
Chelsea are willing to consider both loan and permanent offers this summer.
The Blues would sanction a temporary move provided a suitor is prepared to cover the majority, if not all, of Jorgensen's wages.
But the ideal outcome for the club would be a permanent transfer.
Chelsea are continuing to reshape their squad and would welcome the opportunity to recoup a significant portion of the £20m they invested in the goalkeeper.
With new boss Xabi Alonso keen to refresh his squad and bring in players suited to his own vision, such as Real Madrid's Dean Huijsen, several members of the current group are facing uncertain futures.
Jorgensen is one of those expected to attract considerable interest over the coming weeks.
The former Villarreal keeper still has admirers across England and Europe, and Chelsea believes there will be no shortage of potential takers.
Whether it is Leeds or another club that wins the race, the expectation is growing that Jorgensen's time at Stamford Bridge is drawing to a close as he looks to finally secure the regular football his career desperately needs.
Editor's Insight
Jørgensen looks primed to leave Chelsea, with Leeds the clearest Premier League landing spot given their need for a No.1. A loan elsewhere still feels possible, but Leeds are the short-priced betting favourite if a permanent move develops.
