“I was made in Germany, but I’m made for England,” says Hull City’s New Boss Tim Walter

New Hull City boss Tim Walter is desperate to bring the good times back for the Tigers.

New Leadership at Hull City 

The Championship club finished seventh and agonisingly missed out on the play-offs last season, a finish which cost former boss Liam Rosenior his job.

The German coach Walter, who penned a three-year deal last week, has been installed as the man to make sure the ambitious Yorkshire club don’t miss out on the chance of promotion for a second year running.

“I was made in Germany, but I’m made for England,” Walter told SportsBoom.com.

Walter’s Vision and Philosophy 

“It’s important we have a squad fighting for each other.

“My vision and philosophy of football will fit perfectly to the style of the English footballer.

“It’s a new challenge, but I’m very excited because I have a winning mentality.

“It’s exciting for me because I don’t know England as well, but for me it’s a perfect challenge. I’m looking forward to it.

“At the end of the day we want to win, that’s the challenge for us.

“Getting promoted to the Premier League is the question at a lot of clubs, but it’s my first day, so it’s probably best to ask me that question in a few months times.”

Adapting to English Football 

Former Hamburg coach Walter, 48, officially starts his new role at the MKM Stadium on 1 July subject to successfully obtaining a work visa.

But barring that formality the innovative coach is understandably hungry to implement his high-octane, possession-orientated style of play.

Walter has managed almost 200 matches in his homeland and boasts a win ratio of 50.25%, averaging nearly two goals per game.

“I have a different style of play so it’s going to take some work to create a family that can help us be successful,” added Walter.

“I had a good feeling when I chatted to the owner, which is important when you want to develop and be successful. In my opinion it fits perfect.”

Track Record of Success

“In Hamburg when I was there, we scored the most goals in the season, so we played very offensive football.

“We had a flow building up from the back, so nobody stands still, and it’s always play and move. If you stay, well you will be dead.

“There’s a lot of principals in my game, but it will be new and different.

“I’ve watched a lot of Championship matches and I know this league is going to be really tough but, for me, football is the same everywhere.

“The league is very competitive, which is true, but winning is the same.”
